Resumo

| Este trabalho analisa o papel e o modo de atuação de organizações que têm como um de seus objetivos funcionar como intermediárias entre as entidades geradoras e usuárias de tecnologia no País. Através de um estudo de casos foram estudadas seis organizações juridicamente independentes que funcionam como facilitadoras da interação entre eras. A pesquisa procurou descobrir se estas organizações são realmente necessárias, qual é a sue contribuição na aproximação entre as instituições de pesquisa e o setor de produção e quais foram as motivações básicas que levaram à sue criação. Também foram levantados dados sobre sue estruturação, formas e áreas de atuação, fontes de recursos, relacionamentos com outras instituições, barreiras à sue atuação etc. A realização do estudo levou a algumas conclusões interessantes, das quais se destacam a utilidade destas organizações em algumas situações e a existência de um espaço legítimo que elas podem e devem ocupar.

| This work analyses the role and modus operandi of some organizations which are supposed to promote the aproximation between the production sector and the research institutions in Brazil. Six independent organizations that promote such approximation were studied by means of a case study. The aim of this research was to discover if these organizations are really necessary, what is their contribution in the approximation between the production sector and the research institutions and what were the basic reasons to their establishment. Besides, data and information about the objectives, structure, ways and areas of activity, main sources of funding, relationship with other institutions, barriers to the achievement of the activities etc of these organizations were gathered. The recognition of the relevance of these organizations and of the existence of a legitimate space they may and should occupy are some of the conclusions reached by the study.
